English Setter and Gordon Setter Family Interests

At Sevenoaks many, many hours are spent with our English Setters and our Gordon Setters working, playing, hunting, showing and just plain old relaxing with the kids, the dogs, the horses and our friends.

We are always pleased to welcome visitors to Sevenoaks to see all of our setters, young dogs, old dogs, house dogs, kennel dogs and meet our family.

Les' great passion is hunting and he loves going to field dog tests, riding and raising birds, and was a strong competitor in the show ring when he handled "Ice" Am. Can.Ch.Brentwoods Clansmen Icemen to the Number 1 Gordon Setter in Canada in 2000 and the #2 Gordon Setter in 2001.

Hilary also loves to handle dogs in the show ring, go to field dog tests, ride horses and attend English Setter Specialty shows throughout North America.

Sabrina and Candace were both avid Juniors Handlers competing in both Canada and the United States. Although setters are their first love they have lots of fun showing as many different breeds of dogs that they can. Both Candace and Sabrina made the Alberta Junior Handling Finals for 2000 which were held in Calgary, Alberta in June 2001. Candace earned a place in the Alberta finals for 2001 which were held in Edmonton in June 2002 and consistently ever since to last year 2007 competing at the Eveyln Kenny show in 2008.

2008 the girls are grown up and Sabrina is working for a Professional Handler and travels all over Canada and the US showing dogs and although she grooms and handles many Poodles and other breeds, English Setters are still her first love.

Candace who is now 16 still loves our English Setters, but they definitely take second place to her ever growing collection of horses. She now puts her heart and soul into her favourite breeds, Arabs and Paints.

Leona our Grandaughter is just starting into dog shows and horses so here with go with another generation loving the world of animals
